How We Help

  • Primary HIV Medical Care - We work with the Texas Tech Health Science Center's Infectious Disease Specialists to provide care.
  • Medical Case Management - We work with you and your health care provider to remove obstacles that might prevent you from maintaining or improving your health.
  • Medical and Non-Medical Transportation - We work with you to overcome transportation barriers that would keep you from attending your medical appointments and other appointments that support your overall health status.
  • Oral Health Care - Dental Services are available to clients in need of hygiene, check-ups, and treatment services.
  • Health Insurance Premium & Cost Sharing Financial Assistance - If you have insurance, but need help with your premiums, deductible, or co-payments, we may be able to help.
  • Nutritional Assessment and Counseling - A part of your prescription for improving your health is a good nutrition plan.  We can help you review your nutritional history and develop a plan to improve your health.
  • Food Pantry - BCAR hosts a weekly pantry that assists clients with a variety of fresh, frozen, canned, and staple foods.  While the pantry is open on Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., we can make special arrangements for clients traveling to Abilene on days other than Wednesdays.  Call BCAR to learn more about the pantry and any special services you might need.
  • Psychosocial Supportive Services -   If life is overwhelming or you need a little support from people who understand and care, we can help.
    • Support Groups are available for HIV positive individuals, family members, and friends.
    • Individual supportive services are also available.
    • Information and Referral services to other health and human services
    • Client Advocacy - if you need help obtaining other services, we can help you explore options to overcome barriers.
